ABOUT
Trickster Games is a video game studio founded by Alex Donahue in 2018. The aim of the company is to innovate and expand on what games can do with cutting edge technology, whilst still delivering full products that are fun and dynamic. The current focus of Trickster Games is to further the medium of VR by adapting existing gameplay styles for traditional games into a way that will fit the virtual reality space, taking advantage of the unique mechanics offered by this change in input. Our previous project, Chain of Enemies, was focused on adapting the card game genre and elevating its engagement. Our current project, Firestorm, is larger in scope as a commercial product and designed to push how far dynamic movement can go in VR. This product is aimed at the core market, being less pick-up-and-play than most current VR products, but with much more depth and expression. Our team wants to show the industry that VR games don't need to be restricted to small movements and simplistic controls that could have been found on a PC game 20 years ago, but that players crave a richer game that challenges their notions of what's possible with this hardware.
